‘The world from a Queer perspective’
Homo Sapiens is an award-winning podcast for the LGBTQ+ community hosted by Christopher Sweeney.
First broadcast in 2017, the podcast provides a platform for artists, icons, activists, allies and the public to share stories and conversations through a Queer lense.
I was approached to revise the look-and-feel and inject ‘soul’ into an already beloved brand. One of the key objectives was to create a design system that felt classy, but informal and give a sense of a community that was not corporate. This was achieved by the use of contrasting colour palette and bold typography and a flexible background grid. Soft pastels are paired with deeper hues in a nod to the inclusive Pride flag, without being too obvious.
A brand guide was created to advise other designers on the fundamentals of the identity.
